My friend and I ventured here the other day for an all you can eat feast. About $30 a person for hot pot was awesome! We got half and half herb broth and spicy. We loved the pumpkin, enoki mushrooms, noodles, fresh herbs, cabbage, corn, spinach, beef, dumplings, tofu skin, seafood - it was all delicious. The service was great and attentive. Ambiance was fun too - everyone around us was having a great time for a great reason. Will definitely be back to try the BBQ/ hot pot combo - wish we would have known about it. Sounds like an even better deal.
I've never had hot pot before but always heard about how good it was. I was in Brooklyn for work and was looking for something different to eat. LaoJie came up on my search and I decided to go.
I went alone but didn't feel awkward. The waiter was very friendly and made suggestions on which broths and meats to try. He explained the menu and what was included and what cost extra.
All the meats were delish and the waiters were always checking to see if I wanted more. I didn't realize at first there was a sauce bar but I saw others standing up so I went to look. They had tons of sauces and spices to add to your meal.
The pumpkin cakes were delish and I'm glad I ordered them towards the end to have as a dessert. Meanwhile the mango pudding was not that good. It was more of a soup than a pudding.
I agree with some of the other reviews that the chairs are too low for the table.
Came with a group of 7 and were quickly seated. The waiter spoke good English and took our orders fast. The hotpots, the food, refills, came incredibly quickly. There were about 6 soup bases to choose from, not spicy to spicy. Many meats, seafood, vegetables, drinks to choose from.
There's a 2 hour eating time. It was $30 adults and under $18 for kids under 11.
Was a bit hesitant about the place before I went in because I saw a B grade on the window outside. Nevertheless, I tried the place out. I went around 6:30 PM on a weekend so business was ramping up when I was there. Nevertheless, food was very fresh and delicious. Selection was very good. Service was quick (albeit some missed order but was remediated very promptly when the issue was raised). Staff were friendly. Atmosphere was nice but a bit noisy at peak time.
老街 is actually considerably cheaper than all the other AYCE hotpot places but does not fall behind in terms of quality and service. Highly recommend!
Back here for the 4th time. The bone and mala soup is delicious. The selection of meats is as fresh as ever, and that crispy fish skin? Absolutely delicious. You've got to try the tofu skin rolls too; they're fantastic. The sauces offer a great variety for different tastes. The sticks and balls are average, but they don't detract from the overall experience. The big table for our group of 10 really made a great night. Definitely a go-to spot for a satisfying hotpot experience. 👍🍲🥢
One of the best hotpot places I've been to! The tomato soup base was amazing - it was sweet, flavorful, and paired wonderfully with every dish. The meats were great, but the selection size was slightly smaller than I would've expected.
Would definitely recommend for a solid hotpot experience
Came with a group of 6 and was quickly seated. The waiter spoke very good English and took our orders fast. The hotpot and skewers came incredibly quickly. There were about 6 soup bases to choose from, not spicy to spicy. we didn't eat much hotpot but it was above average. The skewers were pretty good. They also has this mango pudding milk tea jelly thing that was fire.
Compared to other hot pot restaurants, spicy soup base isn’t spicy at all. It might easier for hot pot beginners to try on. Food is decent and fresh. Pudding is really good anyway.
